Reading at University of Miami
I'll be reading with Neil de la Flor and Jaswinder Bolina as part of the University of Miami's Ibis Reading Series.

The IBIS Literary Reading Series presents readings by new creative writing faculty member Jaswinder Bolina, UM MFA alum Neil de la Flor, and poet Oliver de la Paz will be 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, at the College of Arts and Sciences Gallery and Conference Center at the Wesley Foundation. The CAS Gallery is located at 1210 Stanford Drive on the Coral Gables campus of the University of Miami.
Poet, essayist, and newest full-time member of the UM creative writing faculty Jaswinder Bolina is the author of Phantom Camera, winner the 2012 Green Rose Prize; and Carrier Wave, winner of the 2006 Colorado Prize for Poetry. His work has appeared in numerous U.S. and international literary journals and in The Best American Poetry series. Miami MFA alum Neil de la Flor’s publications include An Elephant's Memory of Blizzards (Marsh Hawk Press, 2013); Sinead O'Connor and her Coat of a Thousand Bluebirds (Firewheel Editions, 2011), co-authored with Maureen Seaton and winner of the Sentence Book Award; and Almost Dorothy (Marsh Hawk Press, 2010), winner of the Marsh Hawk Press Poetry Prize. Oliver de la Paz is the author of Names Above Houses (SIU Press 2001); Furious Lullaby (SIU 2007); and Requiem for the Orchard (U. of Akron Press 2010), winner of the Akron Prize for poetry. He co-chairs the advisory board of Kundiman and serves on the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Board. His work has appeared in journals like Virginia Quarterly Review, North American Review, Tin House, and Chattahoochee Review.
Before their reading that night, Oliver de la Paz and Neil de la Flor will be teaching a master class in poetry at 12:30 p.m. in room 427 of the Ashe Administration Building, located at 1252 Memorial Drive on the Coral Gables campus.
